Noon–3:00 p.m.
Coach Steve Gilbert has been coaching lacrosse for six years, including travel teams and city sports leagues throughout southern Maine. Steve is a member of the Waynflete faculty, coaching youth sports and working with high school students as well. This winter Steve also joined the coaching staff of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine as the face-off coach for the men’s lacrosse team. Steve brings a depth of knowledge around both boys and girls lacrosse as well as an ability to connect with kids, teach effectively, help players build skills, and develop good practice habits. We love Steve’s enthusiasm for working with kids to make the game of lacrosse fun.
Coach Mary Gray will coach players in grades 4–5, beginners to advanced level, every afternoon (12:00–3:00 p.m.). Campers will enjoy an energetic pace for games and drills to improve forehands, backhands, volleys, overheads, and serving. Specialized games and match play will improve game strategy (for both singles and doubles), improve the player’s focus on each point, and encourage light-hearted competitive play.
