Week 6 • 5-and-6-Year-Old K–1 Camp • Rising Grades K–1
5-and-6-Year-Old K–1 Camp
Location: Waynflete (360 Spring Street)
Full Day
8:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
K–1 campers aged 5–6 will engage in a fun mix of activities focused on community-based weekly themes. K–1 Camp is based in Waynflete’s beautiful new temperature-controlled K–1 classroom and the outdoors (of course!) where children rising to Kindergarten or grade 1 this fall will enjoy a full day program of art and science projects, group games, nature-based crafts, creative movement, musical expression, and free play.
The K–1 daily schedule balances structured group activities with plenty of self-directed choices and imaginative play appropriate for K–1 campers. With training in social and emotional learning concepts, K–1 Camp program directors focus on kindness, teamwork, and positive interactions as they explore community-focused themes with their K–1 campers. A new theme each week creates a basis for progressive learning to keep new and returning campers engaged and having fun.
