Business & Financial Literacy Camps

Programs for grades 9–12

Business and Finance Camps help young folks learn the fundamental principles of business and entrepreneurship, explore potential career pathways, and develop lifelong skills that are useful in any career.

Business and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

July 14–18, 2025
Grades 9–12

Waynflete • Spring Street Campus
Drop-off: 8:30–9:00 a.m.

Pickup: 3:00–3:30 p.m.

Cost: $445

This camp, powered by BEcamp, is designed for anyone who is “business-curious” or has thought about starting a business someday—no prior business experience required! Campers will build and pitch a real startup with a team, participate in fun active learning activities that get them on their feet, and learn “Business Basics” through a wide range of sessions covering Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Business Strategy, and more. Mike McQuillan, Founder & Lead Instructor of BEcamp, will be the instructor for this camp. BEcamp is an education startup devoted to business and entrepreneurship education for young people. Mike has extensive business experience, a BA from Bowdoin College, and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Personal Finance Summer Institute for Maine High School Students

July 21–25, 2025
Grades 9–12

Waynflete • Spring Street Campus
9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. daily
(9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25)

Build your personal finance skills with this FREE five-day intensive course presented by the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) and Waynflete. Topics will include budgeting, credit, taxes, saving, investing, education, economics, and much more!

– Free for Maine high school students
– Maximum of three students per school
– Includes return service project requirement for the 2025–26 school year (mentor provided)
– Laptop required
– Snacks provided (please bring your own water bottle/drinks)

Is tutoring available for my child during the camp day?
Tutors from Waynflete’s Academic Support program are available to support campers in the following academic areas: reading, spelling, writing, math, and executive functioning. Tutors will coordinate with camp leadership to create a schedule that will work for the camper and their camp program. Summer tutoring is offered at $65/session, and availability is limited.
