Theater Camp: A Midsummer Night’s Dream
June 22–July 2, 2026
Grades 5-8

Waynflete Performing Arts presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare! This two week camp offers an opportunity for campers to act, dance and build a magical world on stage as we prepare for a short performance in Waynflete’s Franklin Theater. Young performers will explore and decode Shakespeare’s expressive language and work towards creating their own unique versions of these delightful characters. Dance and movement will be woven into the storytelling collaboration, along with student designed props and modest set pieces. No theater experience is required! This exciting collaborative theater making process will be guided by Waynflete Performing Arts faculty, Julia Jennings (Drama teacher and Director), Nora Petroliunas (Dance teacher and choreographer) and Tiki Fuhro (Drama teacher and production support). No camp on July 3.

Dance Camp: Jungle Time
July 20–24, 2026
Kindergarten–Grade 2

In this creative movement camp, dancers will explore the movement of the jungle. We will practice swinging through space, prowling low and slow, jumping like jaguars and soaring above the treetops. Our time together will begin with a mindful movement warm-up before moving onto games and thematic movement explorations. We will have lots of good outside time for snack and recess before heading back inside to put our ideas together into a more cohesive dance piece. After lunch, we will spend time building sets, props, and costume pieces to add excitement and intrigue to our end of week informal showing, which is sure to be a blast!

Dance Camp: Under the Sea
July 27–31, 2026
Grades 3–5

In this creative movement camp, dancers will explore the movement of the ocean. We will work together to create crashing waves, breaching dolphins, and joyful jellyfish. We will practice swinging through space, prowling low and slow, jumping like jaguars and soaring above the treetops. Our time together will begin with a mindful movement warm-up before moving onto games and thematic movement explorations. We will have lots of good outside time for snack and recess before heading back inside to put our ideas together into a more cohesive dance piece. After lunch, we will spend time building sets, props, and costume pieces to add excitement and intrigue to our end of week informal showing, which is sure to be a splash!

Show Choir Camp: “The Greatest Show!”

Step into the spotlight for a week of music, movement, and creative collaboration! Campers will explore musical theatre and pop styles through solo and ensemble singing, choreography, and character work—culminating in a high-energy final performance inspired by The Greatest Showman.
